after the announcement that there would be another baby on the way, and their parents' reluctance to enter danny's room after his suicide attempt at the beginning of the summer, charlie and danny have been forced to share a room, with danny on the window side and charlie nearer to the en suite. their desks are set out next to each other, and there is a fine line of paint in the centre where the actual parting of the rooms are. but hey, there's only a year's gap between them, so what can go wrong?

danny throws himself onto his bed, kicking his shoes off and sighing after a long day at school. yeah, it was only monday, but it felt like it should be friday already. he hated his new school, but it couldn't be much worse than the last one.

Charlie throws his backpack down beside his bed and stares at the still stained carpet.
"You know, they sell bleach at the store." He tells Danny, gesturing to the marks of red on the floor. He had a bucket full of sympathy for Danny, especially after the just passed summer, but it also meant that he wasn't going to let him live in memoriam of that.

danny nods into the bed sheets, spreading his limbs out like a starfish. he had only been sharing his room with charlie for a couple of days, but he had already grown used to his attempts to make him feel even slightly better about what had happened. honestly, he felt like shit.

I knock on the door, and push it with my hip after a few seconds. "Hey guys, I made you guys lunch." I say putting the tray that had two silver plates, which had brown toast, bacon and french fries on them, and two glasses that had orange juice, on the desk. I look at my feet before heading to the door. "I hope you enjoy, I really took my time with the meal."

danny took a deep breath and thought about school as he looked at the food. he never really ate at school now, but he guessed it was better than what he had at mason. and for a second, he was grateful that his parents had let him transfer. for once, he actually had friends. but it also meant he had bigger enemies.
